TETREAULT

Teresa, our only daughter, was also born in the State of Alaska in 1966. Until the age of 6, her family lived in Anchorage. The family then moved from there in 1972, to the lower part of the Matanuska Valley, and resided at that location for another four years.
In July of 1976, in the summer prior to her 10th birthday, the entire family moved to the State of Washington to take up residence on an apple orchard. For the next 6 years Teresa attended schools in the Eastmont School District. During her Junior High and High School years, Teresa developed a talent for Art that took root with the help of at least two fine art teachers. During her High School years she found expression and meaning to her life through her art.
In the early winter months of 1982, Teresa decided to strike out on her own, moving to the Los Angeles, California area. She was later married to Jim Tetreault the following year. In December 1983 their first son, William Jean was born. In August 1985 a second son arrived, Christopher Lee. The young family was fortunate in that they were able to live with Jim’s parents during their first ten years of marriage.
Shortly after Chris was born, Teresa went back to school at the nearby Community College, first to get her High School Diploma and afterwards to take a number of courses in the Art field she wished to pursue. She soon worked beyond the instruction her teachers could give her. She then set out to perfect her techniques on her own, particularly in her favorite medium, Pastels. Her talent blossomed over the years, to the point that she became an accomplished artist. During those California years she produced a large volume of work, creating limited works in Watercolor, Gouache, Pen & Ink and Airbrush, as well as combinations thereof. However, the vast majority of her Work was done in Pastels. She sold several of her pieces to family and friends in California as well as a number of other pieces to her relatives in Washington State.
In the fall of 1992, Teresa and her family moved up to the Wenatchee, Washington area in hopes of finding a better employment climate. The Tetreault family business in California could no longer employ them, due to an uncertain business climate. The family stayed with her parents, working for them during that harvest season. In the following months, Teresa and her husband joined forces with her brothers, Steve and Dan to formed a limited partnership to try and promote the Branch Bender, a tree spreading device invented by her father. Teresa did all the advertising design work, and Jim worked the sales end. After struggling to make a go of the business for two years, they had to give up the effort and each partner went to work elsewhere. Jim found work as a Maintenance Man, as well as the Refrigeration Expert for a local packing facility, while Teresa found work as a Floral Designer, a job she found complimented her artistic nature.
Shortly after Teresa's family moved back to the Wenatchee Valley, her parents placed a new triple wide manufactured home on their other orchard block, so her family could move into the original ranch home. Teresa’s family lived there until the summer of 1995, when they were finally able to purchase an established manufactured double wide, on a double lot in Rock Island, a small town about five miles away. Yet again Teresa’s artistic flair can be seen in the very original landscaping she designed for their double lot.
During the intervening years, Teresa’s sons have grown and are currently in the same High School she attended, pursuing their personal talents; Bill with his music, and Chris with his computer work. Teresa is still working for Floral Designs and is the Second Lead Designer for this quality shop. Her husband Jim is now working as a Refrigeration & Equipment Maintenance Man for Tree Top, the primary juice concentrate manufacturer in the area.
