TERESA A. TETREAULT |
||
Teresa (Crosby) Tetreault was born in Alaska in 1966. By the time she moved
with her parents and brothers to Washington State in 1976 she had already
displayed a talent for art. She sold her first painting at the age of fifteen.
During her teen years, she immersed herself in Surrealistic Ink Drawings as a
means of expression.
Teresa moved to California in 1982 and married in 1983. At age 20, she
elected to finish her education and began taking art classes. This was the
catalyst that caused her creativity to blossom. She soon exhausted her teachers’
resources and decided to let her art evolve on its own. At this time she
rediscovered a latent passion for pastels and worked out her own techniques for
their use. She produced quite a volume of work in the ten years she resided in
California, much of it in the early 1990’s while raising two small boys.
Teresa moved back to Washington State in late 1992 with her
family. She has
continued her artwork, though somewhat intermittently since the mid 1990’s,
mostly in the pastel medium.
She believes strongly in artistic talent as a gift from a higher source and
often wonders if it is only her hand that gives her art its magic. Her
philosophy is that life is an exercise in learning and this is reflected in the
subtle meanings portrayed in her art.
Teresa worked full time as a Floral Designer for several years, and
is quite gifted in this artistic area as well. We believe she is currently
working for a local Crafts Warehouse in the artificial flower department.
