ANIMAL PETS

The photo subjects for this page consist of a number of Pets we have owned, both Cats and Dogs, singly or in combinations of species and/or breeds.  Occasionally we will have good photos of friend's pets we think you will enjoy as well...

This fine looking dog is a Bouvier des Flandres affectionately know as Zeke by his owner Cherry Ann Wiest.  He has the distinction of appearing on the Cover of the Breed Club's 2008 Calendar.  Congratulations on this honor!  He appears to be regally guarding the Wiest Apple/Cherry Orchard, in Central Washington State.  Cherry and I have long been friends, and Zeke is one of several Bouviers she has owned in the years I have know her.

"Leaping Lizards" or in this case Leaping Gizmo!  One of the things she loves is to leap high in the air after anything interesting attached to a "fishing" pole.  Just out of sight in this frame is feather.  She is shown just leaving the floor here.  Sometimes she would get so into this game, that she would actually make a back-flip in mid air.  Never was quick enough to get her in that position, however.

Shorty in the snow

It looked like trying to navigate around the snow-covered deck of our Washington home was going to be one big chore for our Pomeranian, Shorty.  That snow was over 6" deep and he was literally plowing his way through it.  We just tossed him out in the middle of this accumulation to see just how he would cope with it all.  NO PROBLEM for this little snow loving dog!  The deeper and fluffier the better he liked it.  We miss him terribly as we had to leave him with others when we moved out of Washington State Spring 2004

Jasmine and Dave

The cat’s name is Jasmine, also know as Jazz, and sometimes, Wild Thing.  She got off on all kinds of crazy antics, like pretending that the shower door rail is a tree limb.  She liked to pace back and forth and otherwise fool around on the rail while Dave was taking his shower.  She could not get up by herself (he put her there), but did jump down if she got bored.  She didn’t seem to mind getting wet, when water sometimes splashed up on her.  When the door was opened, she could get into some pretty funny positions while clowning around!  Her breed background was part Bengal and part Egyptian Mao.

kitty in the midst

This young cat seems to be marching down among the group of family dogs, with a look that seems to say; "I’m the meanest cat on the block, so watch out!!" The funny part is that the Sheltie - Trader appears to believe Bansai (Note how he seems to be leaning over to one side to avoid the cat.), while the other two dogs, Dodger - cocker and Cheri - German Shepherd, simply ignore him!  This group of animals remained the best of friends throughout their lives, playing, sleeping, and eating together with no animosity ever.  They all have gone on the Heaven some years ago, back in the mid 1990's while we still resided in Washington State.
