My artistic specialty is Hand Spun Yarns. I got started with this Art Form in
1978. I have pursued my craft for relaxation, as well as a hobby/small
business venture, ever since then. I have worked hard to improve the quality of
my product on a continuing basis. With the advent of the Internet, I can now
offer you, my readership, some excellent quality hand spun yarns with which to
create you own, one of a kind garments.
All my wheels were hand made by my good friend, Betty
Roberts, with the exception of a mass produced Ashford Wheel.

My Currently Available Stock of Yarns have been spun from these Natural Fiber Types: |
Sheep ~ From mostly modern breeds, but some older type breeds.
In naturally occurring colors and white – some later dyed and/or combined/dyed yarns.
Yarn types range from very fine to bulky, from very soft to hard rug types – 1 or 2 ply.
Angora Rabbit ~ Mostly natural color shades - a very soft yarn – 2 ply.
Mohair Goat ~ White only so far – maybe natural colored later.
A harsher feeling, shiny type of yarn – 2 ply currently.
Alpaca ~ In a number of vibrant natural colors, white, with some later dyed shades.
A very soft yarn, spun quite fine – 2 ply currently.
Blends ~ Have small amount of rabbit/sheep 2 ply, in natural color now.
May do other blends on special order basis ONLY.
If you would like to acquire some of these hand spun yarns for your own knitting pleasure, please go to

My first love has always been Hand Spinning. In
recent years, I have also taken to creating hand knit garments with my stock
of hand spun yarns, originally creating some garments for
family and friends. I now have available a number of Hand Knit Vests, in
Pullover and Tabard (open down the sides, buttoned at waist) Styles. These have
been done in Natural, Dyed, and Combinations thereof, from Modern Sheep Wool.
All the types of animal fibers here have been raised by
me, with the exception of the Alpaca fiber. Care to learn more
and see some photos of my fiber producing animals? Click here!

Pictured above is a selection of some of the
hand knitted garments I completed in the year 2000 that were part of a show I did prior to Christmas that year.
They are, from the top, reading from left to right:

I have created some other garment types, such as hats and
scarves thus far. Hope to get some of these up on my Knitted Garments Page
soon. The items I have made recently were done in Modern Sheep, some items
with Angora accents. I soon expect to do some new creations with Alpaca yarns, possibly in combination with
Angora rabbit as trim. Look for these additional custom items in the Hand-Knitted Garments Catalogue
in
the near future!
I am currently seeking some hand Knitters and Weavers, with whom I can collaborate, to create a line of
unique and fashionable hand-made garments. If you might be interested, why not drop
me a line and let's parlay!
In the meantime, I am working on Hand Knitted
Garments solo, along with my own Hand Spun Yarns, to be sold
under the SNOW COTTAGE FIBRES
Label.
