MOOSE PUZZLE

The above puzzle pattern is one of a series copyrighted by Judy and Dave Peterson.  The Moose with its Containment Framework was made from three laminated plies of a Highly Figured piece of Cotton Wood, while the Backer was made from Juniper.  Interestingly, all pieces of the two wood types for this project were salvaged in June 07 from trees collected in a near by park, that were blown down during the huge wind storm experienced by the Wenatchee Valley, Washington in early January, 2007.
The outer dimensions for the Framework are 11 1/4" Wide by 11 3/4" High by 1" Thick, including the Backing.  The Moose Puzzle is roughly 9" Tall by 8 1/4" Wide, and is 3/4" Thick.  The puzzle was made extra heavy in anticipation that small children would be using it, as well as adult guests.
The piece is a commissioned work, and will be given to Bonnie & John Gruetzmacher as a house warming gift upon the completion of their dream mountain retreat in Southeast North Carolina, Summer of 2008.
