RAMOSE MUREX
WITHIN SCALLOP SHELL FRAMEWORK
This pattern is copyrighted by Phoebe & Steven
Crosby, a mother/son artistic team. The pattern was created by Phoebe,
with various additions and adjustments by Steven throughout the execution
process. The wood used in the piece was from a board he cut from a piece
of local Apple Wood tree trunk. Interesting to Note: What appears to
be a graft union line in the tree is visible horizontally across the shell about
1/3 of the way up the piece -- note the change in color depth in that
area. The thumbnail that launched you to this page showed the entire board
the Murex was cut into before framework outline was executed.
The Ramose Murex Pattern dimensions are 6" Long -
nose point to tail tip - by 5 12" High. The overall dimensions of the
Scallop Shell Framework is 7 1/4" Wide by 6 1/2" High by 1/2"
Think, minus the 3 base connection tabs. These will be inserted into a
base designed to compliment the piece at a future date. Therefore the
piece is considered incomplete at this point in time.
