BUTTERFLIES

 These, and other similar patterns were
copyright by Julia Meaner of the Timber Lace Co. Pictured here are a
couple of the examples of the butterflies that I have scrollsaw thus far.
I currently have a set of 8 patterns for different ones, in sizes up to 5"
Hugh and 7" Wide. There are other pattern sets available. |

These delicate examples have bodies made from Black
Walnut and wings fashioned from Apple Wood. For those shown I inserted a
stiff wire into the underside. They are also shown displayed here in a
decorative toothbrush holder filled with sand. Dried grass heads (shown),
dried flowers, or eve branches with berries attached can then be added for
interest. A second display treatment suggestion would be to glue thin
ceramic magnets to the undersides of the bodies, for use as refrigerator
magnets.
