BUTTERFLIES
These, and other similar patterns were copyright by Julia Meaner of the Timber Lace Co.  Pictured here are a couple of the examples of the butterflies that I have scrollsaw thus far.  I currently have a set of 8 patterns for different ones, in sizes up to 5" Hugh and 7" Wide.  There are other pattern sets available.

These delicate examples have bodies made from Black Walnut and wings fashioned from Apple Wood.  For those shown I inserted a stiff wire into the underside.  They are also shown displayed here in a decorative toothbrush holder filled with sand.  Dried grass heads (shown), dried flowers, or eve branches with berries attached can then be added for interest.  A second display treatment suggestion would be to glue thin ceramic magnets to the undersides of the bodies, for use as refrigerator magnets.
A group of butterflies including the two show above was given as Christmas Gifts to Barbara Woolcot of Juneau, AK.

THIS PIECE ADDED 2007
